Hunter Valley 1/2 Marathon - 19th July

The Hunter Valley 1/2 Marathon was such a pretty run for Daddy. That's what helped him run up all the hills! It was not nice and flat like the Gold Coast so was a lot harder for Daddy aka Larry. He had had a fluey thing recently so Mummy made sure he didn't push himself too much. Mummy, Toni from Bears of Hope, Gilly and I followed Daddy and were able to drive with him on some of the course. It was funny talking to him out the car window while he was running. It was like we were a real support crew in a world event!

Here I am waiting for Daddy...
Here he comes!!!!! Go Daddy... I mean LARRY!!!
When Daddy got to the finish he danced across it in a jig. Everyone was laughing and cheering him on. Look at him dance!!
When we saw him at the finish line Mummy and I gave Daddy a big hug. Mummy cried she was so proud of what he was doing in honor of Sophie. When I gave him a hug his beard tickled me again :)
Here we are catching our breath ofter the race.
and thanking Toni for cheering with Mummy over the whole course.
and here are my Mummy and Daddy... ewwww they are getting mushy!
Great work again Daddy!!

Queensland 1/2 Marathon

Earlier this month Daddy took Mummy and I to the Gold Coast to watch him run in the 1/2 Marathon. We stayed up in a place call Mt Tambourine in a lovely B & B.
We went driving in a convertible, we went, sightseeing, we ate, ate and ate some more and we even had ice cream on the beach! That was my favorite part but don’t tell anyone..shhhhh :) The day before the run in QLD they have a "Carb-up" lunch where everyone eats heaps of pasta and bread to get all the energy they need. We met a few famous runners, Rob De Castella was one we got a pic with.

On Marathon day Mummy and I drove around and cheered Daddy on in his run. We drove, he ran... we drove more and he ran...
and he ran some more with us cheering him on. Mummy as always was the official photographer. Tell you what, cheering and taking a photo is hard work but not as hard as running!

The weather was cooler than we expected but Daddy still heated up in 'Larry'. We cheered and chased and when he got the finish line we were there with the HUGE crowd to give him a big hug. His beard tickles even a fury bear! You are amazing Daddy. Sophie Bear is watching and smiling at her funny Daddy :)
We wrote Sophie's name as we always do when we go places. This one was really pretty at Surfers Paradise.

Daddy played footy with his favourite players...

WOW WOW WOW. I went to Melbourne with Daddy to watch him play in the EJ Whitten Cup. He won a competition and was allowed to pay with a whle lot of AFL superstars and I got to go with him. You could not wipe the smile off his face!
We met so many star players and I had my photo taken with heaps of them. Daddy told me all about who they played for and how many games they had played. It was so exciting especially being in the change rooms with them all. I had photos after photos and I even got a massage!
Mummy came down to watch the game, cheer Daddy on and take lots of photos. Thanks Mummy.

The Running Man

My Daddy is pretty special to me and to Mummy. He is always a lot of fun and he tries to make everything we do really special.

Right now Daddy is raising money for Bears of Hope which is how I came to find such a special Mummy and Daddy. I was given to them at the hospital after they lost our special Sophie Cleo so they didn't leave hospital cuddling something cute. I hope I was cute enough for them :)

As I said my Daddy is special and to raise money he is running the Sydney Marathon on September 20 in a Leprechaun outfit and calls himself 'Larry Leprechaun'!

Daddy looks so funny in the suit and it always makes everyone he runs a past smile. All the little kids smile and wave and it makes him feel good about what he is doing. Some people think he is crazy and wonder why he is doing it but when they find out why he is making a spectacle of himself they agree he's doing a great job.

So far Daddy has raised almost $12,000 and his aim is $15,000. I reckon he is so good at this that he will raise heaps more... even $20,000. Wow.. imagine how many teddies like me could make a family smile when they need it most.

We have been training, 'pounding the pavement' as Daddy says. He has tried the suit in The Gold Coast 1/2 Marathon and The Hunter Valley 1/2 Marathon. I just love watching him run.
I am so proud of what he is achieving in so many ways

GO DADDY!!!

Singapore Zoo!!!!

We went to the Zoo on Sunday with my Cousin Oliver!

WOW WOW WOW!!!

Oliver gets to go to the zoo all the time and knows where all the great animals are. We fed the elephants bananas and carrots and they almost sucked our fingers off.
We saw Lions, all the big cats, Zebra's, Giraffe's, Monkeys and Orangutans! Oliver's favourite animals are the Lemurs or "Move it's"as he calls them. They came right up to us but we couldn't touch them because they are wild animals.
Can you see the Girafe behind us?

My favourite bit was having butterflies land on me. They felt really tickely and made me laugh lots.Uncle Andrew had one land on his ear!! Sooo funny!
We had a great day at the zoo. Thanks for taking me!

Singapore visit

Mummy and I are in Singapore visiting Uncle Andrew, Auntie Anna and Oliver. Oliver is way cool and we hang out a lot. Here we are on the weekend watching the Wiggles play with Teddy Bears!
We also played and danced while we were watching the Wiggles! Can you see me dancing?

Katherine Gorge... so pretty!

Yesterday afternoon we went to Katherine Gorge on a boat trip. It was so pretty as the sun was going down and the shadows hit the rocks. We even saw a fresh water crock!! I stayed away from him but the camera got close...was scary!!

After we cruised for a few hours and heard Aboriginal stories about how the land, the water, the rocks and the trees were formed we got onto another boat for dinner and watched the sun set. Mummy says it was very romantic... or it would be if it was was Daddy and not Auntie Amee :) When Daddy comes up here again Mummy and I will take him on this afternoon. It was just beautiful!
How pretty is this!!
Thanks for taking us Auntie Amee!

The Katherine Cup... Gooooo horsies!

On Saturday we went to the Famous Katherine Cup (they told me it was famous). There were a lot of cowboys there with big hats who were in town for the cattle sales. Some people were really dressed up and others were in their board shorts like they were going to the beach. Mummy and Auntie Amee looked really pretty though and kept their shoes on for some of the time.
Here are Mummy and I beside the race course.

It was a really hot day and Auntie Amee and Mummy drank lots of water through the day to keep hydrated. Amee stole someones fascinator but kept calling it a fashionator.. hehehe she's silly after all that water!

Here we are at the bar.

I had some water too... phew it was hot!! :)

The horses were really big compared to me but I was not scared, Mummy made sure of that. We only put a bet on one race with a horse called something "Sunshine" because it reminded us of Daddy! We got a second!
After the races we went to the Golf Club but Mummy and I were too tired to stay long. When we got home bed was lovely.. I was sooo bear tired!

We had such a fun day!

RIP Skippy

Travelling can be really tiring! First of all our plane as delayed which meant we were driving in the night time to Katherine. First thing to remember is WATCH OUT FOR KANGAROOS AUNTIE AMEE!! We were almost home and Auntie Amee was skiting about hoe she never sees any Kangaroos out here and then BOOMBA... one was right in front of the car. Lucky she didn't stop becasue we could have crashed. The car had to get towed back into town and we got a blue light escort home! Eorrrrrrr eeoooorrrrrrr. Poor Skippy :( Lucky Daddy was not there.. he would have been way too upset.

Mummy and I are going on holidays!!!

I am very excited.. as excited as a Teddy can be!

Tomorrow we are going on a plane to Darwin to visit Auntie Amee. They have moved to Katherine now so it's a new place to visit but there is a bit of a drive to get there. It's never boring with Auntie Amee though, she sings a lot in the car.

Mummy tells me that Auntie Amee wants to go to the races on Saturday and if I am good she will take me too! I love horses.. can we mummy, can we mummy?!!

Gilly is staying home with Daddy for company because Daddy has to work and make all the money. He and Daddy will be watching cricket and they are both happy about that. Mummy and I prefer to do other things when that is on. We will miss them both but will talk to them every day.

Leaving on a jet plane.. don't know when I'll be back again :)

My First 1/2 Marathon!

On Sunday morning very early we went into the city and ran The Sydney Morning Herald 1/2 Marathon. It's a very long race but not as long as the big Marathon like Daddy has done before.
Here are Daddy and I before the run smiling.
Daddy forgot to tell me how far we were going...Mummy chased us around the city and yelled "Go Boys!" which made us run much faster. We didn't tell her we had to walk some of it because daddy's feet and my paws were getting a little sore. Daddy told me it didn't matter that we didn't win but we try and finish the run. It was really hard but we did it together! We ran and ran and walked a little. In one spot Mummy ran with us and had a chat but she had to stop so Daddy and I could finish the run.

When we got to the finish line there was a man reading out every one's names out over a microphone. He read out Daddy's name and then said "Congratulations Bluey". I was so tired but very happy.

Here are Daddy and I after the run with Daddy's medal! We made it Daddy!! I needed a LOT to drink after all that. Here I am taking a break at the final drink station. Phew... When we got home we headed straight to the spa... ohhhhhh it was sooooo nice!
Mmmmmm it really helped my paws!

Daddy said next time we might have special shirts to run in. Mummy is going to design something pretty with Sophie's hand and footprints in honor of her. That would make us so proud!

Thanks for taking me Daddy, was a lot of fun.
